Q:#4 and #8

missmutton

4. I am 5 feet 9 inches tall. (Give or take) 8D

8. It totally depends on everything. I have so many. Want me to list them? OKAY!

Supernatural: …okay really, I don’t have an honest OTP for this show. I’ll ship pretty much everyone/everyone. But I am fond of Sam/Gabriel, Bobby/Crowley, Cas/Crowley, Sam/Cas, Cas/Gabe, and Gabe/Dean. I just…I have a lot of feels for so many pairings in this show. xD

Sherlock: Sherlock/Jawn (I am original)

Doctor Who: 10th Doctor/Jack

Psych: Shawn/Lassie

Uh, if you want anymore you’re going to have to message me and ask for specific shows/books/things. hahaha

Q:Tag! You're it! The rules are to state 10 random facts about yourself. Then, go to ten blogs and tell them that they are it. (:

fivefindeathkoi

1. I taught myself to knit because I was jealous of my friend’s ability to draw. (Go figure I chose to knit instead of practicing sketching. xD)

2. My favorite place to chew gum is in the shower.

3. I’m left handed.

4. My favorite color is orange.

5. I have 8 tattoos (A bat, a bird, a platypus, a rabbit, a dragonfly, shoulder angels, and the word FAKE) and 10 piercings (all of my piercings are in my ear).

6. The Daleks are my favorite Doctor Who villains. Dalek Sec is my absolute favorite.

7. My favorite mythological creatures are Bugbears (not the thing from D&D) and Kelpies.

8. I have a terrible fear of spiders and slugs.

9. Some of my all time favorite things that I rarely blog about on my main blog, but I really love and need to start posting about, are The Dresden Files (currently I’ve only seen the show, which was amazing and really crappy that it was canceled. I need to start reading the books I have the first 6 or so), Early Edition, Mysterious Ways, Psych, and Monk.

10. Most of the items that I knit/sew/make I rarely keep. Except my socks, I hardly ever give those away. I just love the act of creating something, I don’t really want the item when I’m done with it. Though I will hardly ever finish anything if someone asks for it, I dislike knitting for other people, even if I’m being paid. Unless you’re a really close friend or I offer in the first place.

I meant to respond to these waaaay earlier. x.x

That looks freaking sweet. I really like it. I may have to make one of my own. I haven’t knitted a scarf in a while. Maybe after I finish the shawl I’m working on. :D

Socks are my favorite. Socks are the best!! Besssssst! I really need to get back to working on the pair I started. 8C I may just knit a plain pair next, because they would be quick. xD

I used to spin, but I haven’t in forever. I don’t even know where my spindle is.

Awesome. I didn’t actually know if Hobby Lobby or Michaels would carry them as I don’t think I’ve ever seen them there before, but honestly it’s probably because I’ve never actively looked for them. This will probably be my last resort as the closest of either of these is 35 minutes away from my house (and mom is on the whole family about saving gas).
Using a metal dowel is a great idea and one I was thinking about probably doing just because it seemed like the easiest.
And at first I was just thinking about using pins, but I didn’t know if it would work for a large shawl. I would love to hear other people’s opinions on pins v. blocking wires and whether or not you found them necessary. :o
And thanks so much guys! I really appreciate it.

I’ve always used pins—regular old straight sewing pins too, I’ve not bought the fancy “blocking pins”.
And I bought my “blocking mats” from Big Lots in their tiny automotive department—Walmart has them too.  Foam mats just like the white ones Knitpicks sells, online mine are 24” square and came 5 to a package for about $10.  More room to block things!

I actually own quite a few of the blocking pins. I guess, maybe? They’re T-pins, are those the blocking pins? I just like them because they’re thicker and easier to work with for me when I used them to block something before.
Sweet. I will have to take a look. We don’t have a Big Lots anywhere near us so I’ll have to try walmart the next chance I get to go. (We are literally 30 minutes or more away from everything in every direction. x.x ) Do you think Lowes would have them? :o

Q:I get motion sickness from playing most modern video games. It doesn't bother me as much if I watch a video of gameplay but if its over an hour. Its mainly the reason I stick to playing just DS games and my Super Nintendo.

missmutton

Ugh. I wanted to answer this much earlier, but I got home last night and passed the hell out. haha

But that has to suck. :o I love video games, especially on our huge tv upstairs. I do enjoy playing Super Nintendo though. All those old games are so much better than what we have today. xD

Let me think, something about myself now.

Well, I just sat here for like, 30 minutes trying to think of something related, but I couldn’t think of anything, so here’s something random: My favorite place to sleep (aside from my bed) is in my bathtub. If I have a bad day, or am just not feeling well I will grab some blankets and a pillow and nest in it. I’m sad cause I’m home now and can’t really do that anymore, but once I get my own place again, I have a feeling I’ll get back into it. xD

Responses to the answers on my previous post.
Starrynightcat: That sounds awesome! I wouldn’t mind doing that. I’ll have to see what else comes up before I decide to do this. I really like the idea though.
Kalany: I was gonna try this, but I think even with blocking it wouldn’t help much because while knitting them I pulled too tight when changing the colors so the strands are a lot less giving than I had hoped.
yarnandkoopashells: I was originally going to, but (and I know this sounds greedy) with how much work I put into them and with how much the yarn costs I don’t really want to just give them away.
withtwoneedles: Haha, interesting idea, but I think my decision to do this is probably not going to happen. For the same reasons listed above. I’m putting a lot of time and money into these so I’d like them to get a great deal of use somehow.
cordetta: I like the idea of giving to a local charity and I have done that many many times with a great deal of my knitted things, but I think I would rather hang onto these and continue to donate hats and scarves.
littlebookish: Oooh this sounds fun. I will message you.
geekypudding: Will also message you. :D
Thank you everyone who gave me suggestions. I really appreciate it and it really helped. If anyone has anymore suggestions I am all ears.
While I think about what to do I am going to go and finish those socks (…and read Captain America fanfiction).
Love you guys!!!
(also…little bit of Jeremy Renner/Hawkeye in there for you)

Q:Hey :) I really like your knittings and I´d like to be able to make similar things you can make. I also like knitting but I usually make easier things..yours look quite complicated. Could you mail me how you made the scarf you posted on March 25th? I would be very pleased :) And please forgive my horrible English but I´m German in fact. Thank you in advance, Sandy

sandies-site

It’s actually the yarn that makes it look that way. It is very simple to knit. The name of the yarn is Salsa and you can get it here http://www.iceyarns.com/salsa.

To knit it you need to “cast on”, in this case you’re just picking up, 8 stitches from back to front. And then you just knit back and forth until you’re almost out of yarn then you cast off and instead of weaving in the ends you just tie it in a knot. It’s easier to pull the yarn apart as you go. You should use slightly larger needles as their is no gauge. I have found that cable needles help to keep the stitches more under control. But straight needles work just fine. Also, be super super careful not to drop a stitch because the whole scarf will fall apart and you’ll have to start over. x.x

These instructions will probably make more sense when you have the yarn in front of you.

If it didn’t just let me know and I’ll see if I can explain it in a different way.

Also thank you! And it’s only complicated at first. Keep practicing and it’ll get easier!

Q:I don't know about that. I could just post some pictures. I'm sure he wont mind.. (The question is: will my sister enjoy dressing up like a zombie and having her face painted green and holding my knitting while I take some pictures..) I'm super jealous that you're a timelady. Can I come too!? I'd make a good companion. And I'm sure if I called Sherlock, he'd know where to find you (either that or he'd think I'm completely bonkers). That would also explain the fruit magic.. still jealous..

nerdyknitter

Well, I mean. You don’t want to make him mad. He may be a knitter, but he’s still a zombie, he could eat you and that would be horrible. And also sad. (That would seriously be the best thing ever. Oh my god. If that happens I need pictures. Seriously need them.)

You can be my companion. I must say up front that the fruit magic is a closely guarded secret that I am unable to share, but I can show you other things. We can visit the dinosaurs, I’m not sure why the doctor hasn’t, then again he always was such a silly boy, always getting into trouble in other ways. I suppose the dinosaurs were just to simple for him.

All my adventures tend to lean on the less dangerous side of fun, I hope that’s okay. And Sherlock? He would hardly think you’re bonkers, I traveled with him once. Then he found John and decided to stay home. I approved of John of course, I couldn’t just let my Sherly go off with some stranger. John does make a decent cup of tea, so that helped.

(I seriously want a Doctor Who name. Just saying like, The Doctor or The Master. Someone give me one. Seriously, maybe I can think of one. Oh god then this conversation would never stop)

Q:Just because it said to question your sanity, and I therefore must: do you find yourself knitting oranges over and over and expecting to, on time, end up with an apple? Or a grapefruit? Sorry, I just couldn't resist. Also, I like that your posts are from the future (on your page, it says what time things are posted. Some are after 7:42 pm (which is what time it is here..)) :D Also, there's a Zombie named Zoid who lives down the street from me and he's actually a pretty good knitter. Night! :)

nerdyknitter

I wish, that would be so cool. I would be the magic fruit knitter. Or something! You would never receive the fruit you ask for, you will only receive the fruit you need.

I am secretly a Time Lord (Lady). I was just hopping around the space-time stream and stopped off a bit for some tea and bananas and decided post a few things. So, if it happens again that’s why.

ZOMBIE! Is it really a zombie? Because, I happen to know, from a very reliable source, that zombies are not very good at knitting, but I suppose I could take your word for it.
