So for one of my garments in the Spring Showcase I’ve decided to knit this poncho thing. It’s made for me and I bought the yarn last night. I’m two balls short and I can’t decide if I want to try and find the same color yarn or go with black and do the edgings and pockets. Any input? :3

Was super sick yesterday so I pretty much slept all day so I didn’t post. Decided to take the advice of everyone and do both stripes and opposite. Colors. :3 I know the colors aren’t spot on because it should be silver instead of black, but I figured the shiny would show better on black. Also still watching Supernatural. Finally on season 4. Oh my god. This season is so much better than the last one. CAS!!!! (Day 243/244/365)

I can’t say a certain pattern off the top of my head, but there have been quite a few general types that I remember. Most were toy patterns. Apparently I have issues with things that tell me that gauge isn’t important because I will end up way the fuck off anyway and end up with some sad misshapen blob that really doesn’t look like the animal or creature or whatever, that it’s supposed to be. xD  Also I usually knit a lot of hats and no matter how cool or awesome the pattern is I always end up disliking them. Because of that I usually just give them away to my best friend, she’ll usually wear whatever I make. It’s pretty helpful and makes me feel better about some of my finished projects. xD

So today one of my classes went on a required field trip to two textile mills and a huuuuuuge fabric store called Mary Jo’s. It was awesome. 

The first mill we went to took cotton and cleaned and converted it into all kinds of products: cotton balls, feminine products, dental products, and those things nail stylists use on your feet (I am drawing a huge blank as I am running on 3 hours of sleep.) All of the photos in this post are from this plant.

The second one worked for Fruit of the Loom and Hanes Brand. I wasn’t able to take any photos of this place because they were a bit more strict on their policies and I didn’t want to get on anyone’s bad side seeing as we were guests. :)

And finally Mary Jo’s. My aunt showed up then and purchased for me about $100 worth of fabric. I will post photos of those tomorrow along with the quick shot I managed of the store.

I’m going out of town this weekend and I wanted some input on the next two pairs of socks I’m knitting while I’m gone. 

The Black and Green socks are gonna be sparkly slytherin socks. But, I wanted help deciding if they should be knit in stripes or if they should have the heel/toe/cuff being alternating colors. 

And I was wondering if anyone had any pattern suggestions that would look good in the colorway in the second picture. It’s called vintage.
